Adaptation. (2002) Review

The movie poster for "Adaptation." starring Nicolas Cage.

DJ Benvenuto the Raccoon has this to say:

Now we move on to another movie I saw recently: Adaptation.

Not the epic that The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers was, but nevertheless I found it quite enjoyable. I laughed pretty much the entire movie.

Nicolas Cage plays a frustrated screenwriter that can’t "adapt" a book about a Florida man that was caught stealing some orchids from a federally protected reserve.

He wants to remain faithful to the book, but in the end he pretty much gets as far away from the book as he pretty much can.

He writes himself into the story and what we are left with is a self-loathing mess of a movie.

Nicolas Cage also plays the aforementioned character’s twin brother, who is aspiring to become a screenwriter like his brother. Simply put, Donald (the twin) provides some of the movie’s most memorable moments. "Motorcycle VS Horse". Oh yeah.

Sure, this movie will probably be forgotten in some time, but I liked it.

I didn’t even think it would be as funny as it was.

It may not be your cup of tea, but I still recommend it.
