DJ "Hannibal" Hadoken has this to say:
Just wanted to say again that Japanese people have the most fun.
Dinner conversations are also the best.
In Japan is the only place where you will be sitting at the
dinner table with your average middle-class man and
5 year old son having a conversation, when the little boy asks his
father, “Do you know what ‘camera’ means?” and the father simply replies
to his son, “Do you know who Gamara is?”
I love my average Japanese dinner conversations.
I told my host family what I did today: that I went around and talked to about
20 or 30 strangers asking them if they ever built robots. They
got a kick out of it.
Then a little later, we were talking about a Korean (from South Korea) that’s going to stay with us. My host father explained that if it’s a guy, he might share the same room as me, but then said only if I wanted, only if I liked him and if we got along. Then my host father told me to ask him if he’s ever built a robot, and if the guy says no, then separate room, and if he says yes, then same room.
It’s also interesting when you are asking a Japanese girl dressed like a French maid if she’s ever been on a UFO, and how she talks as if she weren’t dressed the way she was.
Interesting.
