Episode 4

“Sire is back!”

The men shouted in joy, “Sire! It’s Sire!”

The king of the Humans, Manking, emerged from his place of rest and greeted his men, “Hello, men. I have returned from my place of rest. What news do you have for me?”

From among the many men, emerged Captain Nid. He was grinning as he approached Manking and said, “We’ve slaughtered the Neanderthal camp that was located near the village of Merc, Sire.”

Upon hearing this news, Manking rejoiced loudly, “Yes! We’ve won both battles.”

Captain Nid clenched his fists and said, “Now we move forward, Sire! We will remove these knuckle-draggers off the face of the planet and show them we were the chosen ones favored by the lord Mordica.”

Manking nodded, “That is good, Captain Nid. As you know, I have seen the lord Mordica, myself. He sits on top his throne next to the Holy Plateau. We all look exactly like him in every aspect. He told me personally this: ‘Remove the Neanderthal scum off the planet for they’re a disgrace to our genus.’ And that’s what we must do.”

Suddenly, there was a fading of sunlight and all went dark for just a second. And when the light came back, everyone looked up towards the sky. Then, they all looked towards Manking.

Something had happened. In an instant, something changed within them. Their expressions of joy at the return of Manking had now changed into serious looks of disdain.

Captain Nid realized that this was the sign that he was waiting for. That the time of the Young Ones had arrived and the end of Manking was now.

“The nanny has given birth to my son, Captain Nid Junior,” said the traitorous Captain Nid.

Manking’s face grew with anger as his once loyal men now menacingly surrounded him.

“DO NOT GO AGAINST ME FOR I AM MESSENGER OF MORDICA AND HOLD THE MARK ON THE PALM OF MY HAND, THE SAME MARK WHICH HAS BEEN CARVED ON THE MOON!”

Captain Nid sneered, “The mark on the moon is gone. It has been expired. Your life has been expired. It’s now the time of Captain Nid Junior!”

As the traitors closed in on him, Manking was overcome with immense dread and begged, “WAIT! WAIT! PLEASE, I IMPLORE!”

Manking was surrounded, but then the most loyal soldier, Nor, appeared with Manking’s most trusted men and saved him.

“Sire, come with me! We must run!” Nor shouted as he grabbed Manking. They ran together from the traitors and started heading south.

The traitors looked towards Captain Nid, “Captain, what shall we do?”

The defiant Captain Nid responded, “I have foreseen this coming.”

Captain Nid gestured towards the shadows and from there emerged a figure who resembled a Neanderthal, but had longer legs and wielded a longer stone club.

“Here we have Nilkik, a conscript we have taken from the Neo-Neanderthal tribes.”

Nilkik began to run south.

As Nilkik ran further from them, Captain Nid told the other traitors, “He will hunt down Manking and bring him to us so we can impose his death sentence.”
